Its Been awhile since i gazed at the stars
and beheld their beauty from afar
it's funny how we marvel at jewelry and cars
and take for granted this planet of our
It's Been awhile since i gazed at a tree
and stood underneath her, let her cover me
seeking shelter from the elements
her leaves invited me into her residents
It's Been a while since i felt the snow
melting on my nose, crunching below my timbos
cold wind blows sends shivers through my bones
i miss new york its been awhile since i been home
It's Been awhile Since I cried,
i mean I've felt the urge but i haven't purged the feelings inside
I've Laughed Loud and Shouted even Louder
Fear To Show My Emotions Make me a Real Coward
Nothing Worse Than, Thinking You Whole when You Broken
Too Wise to receive Simple Instruction
Like Pray For Your Enemies and Love Them
And Don't worry about a get back

It's Not that often you can say you like to be used.... But I Feel Like That Right Now
This is my second day/ Night at the City Rescue Mission . The first night we very uneventful and laid back. I meet some of the students and guests and just really sat there till it was time for me to leave. I was questioning my purpose for being there. Tonight, However was a different story..
I Got in at 7:45 My Shift Started @ 8 Laffy ( a student who helps a@ the front desk) Greeted Me and i went str8 up-stairs to the third floor there are about 30 bunk beds and 80-95 percent are full mostly with brown skin brothers a few Caucasians and a couple of Latino brothers. The smell is bad but no way NEAR what i expected.
Any so I set up my laptop and get prepared for another uneventful night. This Brother named Bruce started to ask me questions about where i was from i told him NY and he explained about some of his sisters who live in NY the conversation shifted when he mention one of his sisters came down from new york , on her way to Miami, she gave him 100 dollars he asked me how long i thin it lasted I said 1 hour he said 4hours i said you better than me :D .
Bruce started express himself to me openly about his addiction he had been using crack and excessive alcohol. He said He Had Been experiencing anxiety after he smoked. his exact word where he got scared he asked me how it felt when i got saved. i said scared....
I explained to him that salvation was just the beginning and it was going to be a lot of things that were going to happen to him weather or not he got saved and i said they if it's gonna go down anyway..... you might as well get on the squad with the coach who can handle it .
Bruce said he wasn't about to be "playing with GOD"I gave Him My testimony and wanted him to know you AIN'T GOTTA WAIT TO GET RIGHT WITH GOD!. i held hands with him prayed and the i directed him toward
Isaiah 12-2
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
so as i got finished praying with him, a brother staggered in and flopped on the bed...
He Was Probably Drunk or High Or a Little of both, (or a lot) but what i noticed about this brother he looked different he had an I Phone Brand New Jordans and a mouthful of Gold Teeth.
Not your typical homeless brother he was puerto rican and his name was Julio. As He Sat On the bunk he looked visably upset he barked at another guest for talkin too loud and took off his shirt in a very alpha-male like display. He had a huge scar from his chest to his navel. I Just Knew before the night was out this dude was going to get into it with someone hopefuly not me.
We'll His Buddy Eric Kept trying to get him to come sleep by him but he refused the brother was obviously disgraught. He Kept Playing On Jams on the I phone sounded like some trillville and gladys knight (what a combo). I Asked Him If I could help with anything he said he was cool.
I Think Midnight Train To Georgia Called Him Down a Little.
Well By This Time It's Lights Out. Julio wasn't sleep he came over to where i sit to use the plug to charge his Phone. I struck up a convo just by saying how bad i wanted a I-Phone.
He Began To tell Me about his Mother Who was dying of Cancer in a Hospice. He showed me Pictures she looked 40 years old......then he told me he was 40! he Looked 25!
He Had 7 Kids 3 boys 4 girls and a Wife, I said.......You Have No Business In Here Sir.
I said I bet your here because you wanted to run with ya boys and ya wife aint having it, so rather than go hope you come to a shelter. He just put his head down. I said any one who will lead you here in a RESCUE Mission when you have a Sick Mom and A Wife and Kids ain't ya friend. i said i bet your wife dosen't want you with them dudes. I began To Explain My story on How My wife put up with my foolishness and how my pride was keeping God From Doing Things in My Life. and that i wasn't until i realized the blessings he had already given me . and started to take care of them, then he opened up the door for more i prayed for Julio then He Went to sleep
or so i thought............
about 30 min after we talked a brother came up to me asking if i can tell this brother to turn off his radio. I walked dowwn there and lo and behold it's Julio jamming Gladys on the I Phone again i asked him to turn it off please and that it was lights out then the other brother said he like a kid with a new toy. Julio Exploded Jumped Out the bed and put his shoes on. I ain't know what to do. They Gave a Verbal exchange The Brother who complained asked Julio if he wanted a shot at the title. I said if you wanted to handle this on your own then you shoukd have just handled itbut since you got me can you please be quiet. He agreed julio is still heated thou i told him i understan how music can help keep you calm when you stressing out i offered him my headphones he looked at me like he could'nt believe id do that i said to "Borrow" i want my phones back we laughed. Then I said " remember when your head was hurt and you yelled at the brother to quit down?, he and everybody else shut up they showed you that respect all im asking is that you show them that same respect back. He agreed and apoligized said i could keep my head phones and that he was going to sleep. I couldn't belive That worked i thank the Holy spirit for Putting the Word in My Mouth. What a First Night!
